Approve a non-financial Affiliation Agreement with Concordia University Irvine for clinical training of nursing students at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, for the five-year period of May 23, 2023 through May 22, 2028.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as this Affiliation Agreement with Concordia University Irvine (Concordia) is non-financial in nature.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This Affiliation Agreement will provide clinical training at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) to nursing students from Concordia. As a teaching hospital, ARMC has a number of agreements with educational institutions to provide onsite training for students. The clinical training is necessary for students to obtain their degrees, licenses, and/or certifications that will provide for safety, health, and social service needs of county residents by increasing the healthcare professional workforce for patient care.

The volume and diversity of ARMC patients provides a comprehensive educational opportunity to students from Concordia, which is a fully accredited educational institution. Concordia and ARMC will mutually determine the number of students that will receive training.
