Recommendation
Approve an Agreement with Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. for the provision of crisis intervention training services for a not-to-exceed amount of $750,000, for the period beginning December 19, 2023 through December 18, 2028.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of the item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the cost of $750,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2023-24 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Agreement with Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. (CPI) will give ARMC the ability to conduct trainings and gain necessary tools in management of assaultive behavior which will help staff to de-escalate violent behavior and prevent assaults at different settings within a general healthcare setting. Trainings will be tailored to provide education levels of interventions based on the job roles, functions, and expected level of interaction with patient populations. Trainings will include multiple methods of delivery ranging from online learning to in-person education.
