RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a non-competitive purchase order with Bound Tree Medical, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, for pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical supplies, for a retroactive period of June 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of the recommended purchase order will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation and revenue for this contract is included in the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District's (SBCFPD) 2023-24 budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
SBCFPD uses multiple vendors to purchase the various products and equipment needed to provide fire protection and emergency medical services to county residents and visitors. Currently, SBCFPD purchases pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical supplies used by first response staff from Bound Tree Medical (BTM) on an as needed basis by purchase order.

On March 29, 2022 (Item No. 65), SBCFPD's Board of Directors (Board) approved the purchase of pharmaceutical vending machines from BTM.
