RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1, effective November 5, 2019, to Contract No. 17-248 with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools for the provision of School Aged Treatment Services to students in their jurisdiction, updating standard contract language, increasing the total contract amount by $2,400,000, from $8,000,000 for an amount not to exceed $10,400,000, with no change to the contract period of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2022.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The increase of $2,400,000 for School Aged Treatment Services (SATS) is funded by Medi-Cal Federal Financial Participation and San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS). SBCSS will continue to provide the required agency match for services provided, that will increase by $400,000, from $223,520 to $623,520 annually, starting in 2019-20. SBCSS utilizes California Department of Education funds to pay the agency match and reimburses DBH on a quarterly basis. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included the Department of Behavioral Health's (DBH) 2019-20 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
As the Mental Health Plan for the County, DBH provides authorization and oversight for inpatient and outpatient specialty mental health services in the most cost effective manner possible. The contract with SBCSS for SATS provides a rang...
