RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1, effective December 18, 2019, to Contract No. 18-206, with San Diego State University Research Foundation to provide Social Worker Training for Children and Family Services Staff, updating contract language and increasing the total contract amount by $308,785, from $6,181,644 to $6,490,429, with no change to the total contract period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The increase to the contract in the amount of $308,785 will be funded through the Child Welfare Services Allocation, which is 50% Federal ($154,393) and 50% Realignment ($154,392). Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Human Services Administrative Claim 2019-20 budget and will be included in the 2020-21 recommended budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The recommended amendment increases funds to add Common Core Trainings (CCT) to the contract with San Diego State University Research Foundation (SDSURF) for Social Worker Training. CCT is the standardized statewide training curriculum developed for California's child welfare workers through a multiyear collaborative as mandated by the California Program Improvement Plan in response to a 2003 federal Child and Family Services Review.
