RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of County Service Area 20 (Joshua Tree):
1. Approve Addendum No. 1 to the bid documents, issued on November 13, 2019, to add and include the latest federal prevailing wage modifications to the bid package.
2. Award a construction contract to W.M. Kanayan Construction Inc. in the amount of $320,760 for the Desert View Conservation Area Project (Project).
3. Authorize the Director or Interim Director of the Special Districts Department to order any necessary changes or additions to the work performed under the contract for a total amount not to exceed $28,538 pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20142.
4. Authorize the Director or Interim Director of the Special Districts Department to accept the work when 100% complete and execute and file the Notice of Completion.

Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).
The Project, which includes the cost of this recommended construction contract, is funded by two grants obtained by County Service Area 20 (Joshua Tree) (District). A Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant administered by the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation (State) provides $200,000 under a funding agreement approved by the Board of Supervisors (Board) on November 17, 2015 (Item No. 57) and the State ...
