Recommendation
Approve contract with Faculty Physicians and Surgeons of LLUSM dba Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group to provide Pediatric Physician Services, in the amount of $2,698,920, for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The total cost of these pediatric physician services will not exceed $2,698,920 for the contract period and is funded by fee-for-services Medi-Cal, Managed Care Medi-Cal, private insurance, realignment funds, and sliding fee scale clients. Payment will be on a fee-for-service basis. Adequate appropriation and revenue will be included in the Department of Public Health's (DPH) 2020-21 recommended budget and in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Section 330 of the Public Health Services Act requires that Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) serve an underserved area or population, offer a sliding fee scale, and provide comprehensive health services which includes pediatric services. Currently, DPH operates four FQHCs in San Bernardino, Ontario, Hesperia and Adelanto. Comprehensive pediatric services were integrated into the DPH health centers in 2014 and 2015.
