Recommendation
Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a SAP Contract with Arthrex, Inc. in the amount of $700,000 for the purchase of specialty orthopedic surgical implants and accessories for a two-year period April 7, 2020, through April 6, 2022.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item with Arthrex, Inc. (Arthrex) will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the cost of $700,000 for purchase of specialty orthopedic surgical implants and accessories is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Sufficient appropriation and revenue are included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2019-20 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The contract with Arthrex, Inc. will allow ARMC to purchase specialty orthopedic surgical implants and accessories for anticipated orthopedic procedures. Arthrex provides implants and fixation plates and screws used in the treatment of difficult fractures in the wrist, shoulder, knee, foot, and ankle. Arthrex supplies proprietary technology such as the Bio-Tenodesis Screw(tm) System used in ligament and tendon repairs and reconstructions, which decreases the complexity and length of time required to complete the repair or reconstruction of li...
