FINANCIAL IMPACT
Report on Innovate 2020 is non-financial in nature and will not require the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On February 11, 2020 (Item No. 2), Chair of the Board of Supervisors and Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman conducted a presentation on Innovate 2020. The purpose of Innovate 2020 is to stimulate and expand the County's culture of creativity and collaboration to maximize efficiency and excellence within the organization and services provided to residents. One strategy under this program is "Showcase Events", which highlights programs and practices that have made a positive difference in individual departments and programs, so that these programs and practices can be adopted in other departments. Under Recommendation No. 1, the Board of Supervisors (Board) will receive a report regarding Innovate 2020 technology concepts and initiatives, and explore emerging technologies relative to health, transportation, communication and infrastructure, and how they may benefit the County.
