RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Ratify the acceptance of the following allocations from the California Department of Public Health for COVID-19 activities:
1. Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Enhancing Detection funding, Award No. COVID-19ELC36, in the amount of $16,202,583, for the period of May 18, 2020 through November 17, 2022.
2. Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Enhancing Detection Expansion funding, Award No. COVID-19ELC94, in the amount of $98,066,203, for the period of January 15, 2021 through July 31, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The allocations in the amount of $16,202,583 from the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act and $98,066,203 from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act awarded by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) do not require a match. Adequate appropriation is included in the Department of Public Health's (DPH) 2020-21 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
