RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, approve agreement with Clean Earth Environmental Solutions, Inc. to provide countywide household hazardous waste disposition services in the amount not to exceed $2,300,000 for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Household Hazardous Waste Program (Program) is funded through city contracts, grants, a Memorandum of Understanding with the County's Solid Waste Management Division for environmental mitigation, residential special assessment taxes collected in the unincorporated areas of the County, and other revenue generated by the program. Appropriation for this agreement, and related revenue, are included in the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District's (SBCFPD) 2021-2022 Recommended Budget and will be included in future year budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
SBCFPD operates a Regional Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Program throughout San Bernardino County that includes one San Bernardino Central Processing Facility, 13 fixed HHW collection sites, one Antifreeze, Batteries, Oil and Latex Paint (ABOP) facility, and 4-6 one-day collection events held in both the cities and unincorporated areas.
