Recommendation
Accept funding, in the amount of $75,150, from the California Department of Recycling Resources and Recovery for beverage container recycling and litter abatement activities for the 2020-21 Funding Request Cycle.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of the Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). If approved, the item will authorize the Department of Public Works - Solid Waste Management (SWMD) to accept $75,150 from the 2020-21 California Department of Recycling Resources and Recovery (CalRecycle) Funding Request Cycle. SWMD is not required to provide any matching funds in order to accept these program funds. CalRecycle will allot the funds in Budget Year 2020-21 for the 2020-21 Funding Request Cycle. Payment from CalRecycle was received on June 7, 2021 with official notification of application approval on June 8, 2021. This revenue may be used for beverage container recycling and litter abatement activities. Any funds not spent by March 1, 2023, must be returned to the State. Sufficient appropriation and revenue has been included in the SWMD 2021-22 Operations Budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
