RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of County Service Area 53, Zone B (Fawnskin) and County Service Area 70, Zone CG (Cedar Glen), adopt ordinance for water and sanitation user rates beginning 2023-24 through 2025-26, which was introduced on May 9, 2023, Item No. 68.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The estimated revenue projected from the recommended water and sanitation rates for County Service Area (CSA) 53, Zone B (Fawnskin) and CSA 70, Zone CG (Cedar Glen) is $1,290,000 in 2023-24, $1,335,000 in 2024-25, and $1,382,000 in 2025-26. These revenue amounts reflect a 3.5% annual increase to the user rates for 2023-24 through 2025-26. The revenue generated will continue to be used to offset the costs of providing services, including the cost of paying for conservation mandates, regulatory changes, ongoing operation, maintenance, and repair and replacement of the existing water and sanitation systems. Appropriation and revenue related to these rates are included in the 2023-24 Recommended Budget for CSA 53, Zone B (Fawnskin) and CSA 70, Zone CG (Cedar Glen), and will be included in future recommended budgets.
