RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve and accept grant award agreement (State Agreement No. PEI 23-36) from the California Department of Public Health for the Perinatal Equity Initiative Program to improve Black/African American infant and maternal health, in the amount of $980,310, for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
2. Designate the Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Chief Executive Officer, or Director of the Department of Public Health to accept, execute, and submit supplemental documents necessary to receive funding and subsequent non-substantive amendments to the grant award agreement (State Agreement No. PEI 23-36), on behalf of the County, subject to review by County Counsel.
3. Direct the Director of the Department of Public Health to transmit all subsequent non-substantive amendments in relation to the grant award to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors within 30 days of execution.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The grant award in the amount of $980,310 from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for the Perinatal Equity Initiative does not require a local match. Adequate appropriation and revenue will be included in the Department of Public Health's (DPH) 2023-24 recommended budget.
