RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve the plans and specifications, and authorize the Deputy Director of the Real Estate Services Department - Project Management to advertise for competitive bids for the High Desert Detention Center Generator Replacement Project at 9438 Commerce Way, Adelanto.
2. Find the High Desert Detention Center Generator Replacement Project in Adelanto is exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, Section 15303, new construction or conversion of small structures.
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to file and post the Notice of Exemption of the Project as required under California Environmental Quality Act.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The project budget of $2,000,700 is funded from the Discretionary General Fund as approved by the Board of Supervisors (Board) as part of the 2019-20 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of this item will allow the Real Estate Services Department - Project Management (RESD-PM) to solicit competitive bids for the High Desert Detention Center (HDDC) Generator Replacement Project (Project) located in Adelanto. The Project will install a new 1250 kilowatt generator, and relocate an existing 900 kilowatt generator to provide emergency backup power for the HDDC.
